المشكلات السلوكية وعلاقتها بالتوافق الاجتماعي المدرسي لدى المراهقين في المدارس الإعدادية بمقديشو
Abstract
This study aimed to identify the most prevalent behavioral problems among adolescents in preparatory schools in Maqdishu (Mogadishu) and to determine whether there were differences in the prevalence of these problems between male and female adolescents. It also sought to examine the relationship between behavioral problems and school social adjustment among adolescents at the preparatory school level. The researcher adopted a descriptive research design. A questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument, consisting of measures of behavioral problems and school social adjustment. A sample of 150 male and female adolescents from preparatory schools was selected. The data were analyzed using the following statistical methods: the one-sample t-test, the Mann–Whitney U test to examine differences between two independent groups, and the Pearson correlation coefficient. The study reached the following findings: Male adolescents scored significantly higher than female adolescents in aggressive behavior, whereas female adolescents scored significantly higher than males in emotional problems, academic problems, and impulsivity. There was a negative correlation between behavioral problems and school social adjustment among adolescents in preparatory schools in Mogadishu. Based on these findings, the researcher presented a number of appropriate recommendations.
